Glorious weather

Two more weekends of sailing and enjoying the shoresides of the river and the lakes.

I am a great admirer of John Singer Sargent's paintings. Many years ago I got acquainted with his paintings through a huge fat table diary on my office desk, representing art every day. Really so much to enjoy next to all the business in that diary. A yearly Christmas gift by a pharmaceutical company, a tradition which alas they stopped. But of course, we are all digital these days.

My husband will not be painting, it is not quite his style anyway. I will not be lazing about. Apart from the sailing we will do winter preparations on where we usually stay on the waterfront and -as if my garden is not enough to keep up- I will be trimming greenery. Wonderful hydrangeas all over the place, hanging plentiful over the water line.

Our dog will snooze away in his life jacket. He is ancient and fragile, but enjoys the wind in his hair and the scents in his long nose.

The BBQ will sizzle on the island and we will sip wine as we watch the sunset with a sigh, listening to the waterbirds all around us and the silence of nature otherwise, gazing at the glitter of the water and the abundant colours all around us.
